Faxed and e-mailed healthcare accounts

In terms of the rules of the Scheme, and to prevent fraudulent claims from entering our system, we can unfortunately not accept faxed or e-mailed accounts. Metropolitan Health Group, the Scheme's Administrator, subscribes to the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act of 2002. This prohibits the acceptance of faxed and e-mailed claims.

ICD-10 Compliance - 1 July 2005

As from 1 July 2005, it is compulsory for most healthcare service providers to include the ICD-10 diagnosis codes on their accounts. Claims submitted by these providers to the medical aid without an ICD-10 code on/after such date will be liable for rejection.

PLEASE NOTE: The ICD-10 code must be at its appropriate 3rd, 4th or 5th character level.
